BORHART SPELLMEYER & COMPANY was founded in 1989 by Len Borhart and Robert Spellmeyer, two former partners of a national accounting firm. While the significant experience with a national firm was valuable to their professional and personal development, the big firm bureaucracies and client service philosophies grew to conflict with the manner in which they desired to deliver professional services. Our firm was founded with a belief in close personal contact with our lifeblood, the clients. Since 1989, the firm has added partners that share that basic philosophy. These individuals have substantial experience working with companies in a variety of industries. Our firm has since grown to include 19 professionals with a range of professional experience and ability.

Our firm has five partners, all of whom have substantial experience with client administration and service with a national firm. In addition, the firm has three managers with significant national firm experience. These individuals have spent from 13 to 30 years in public accounting. Our supervisor, senior, and staff accountants have varying levels of experience in both the audit and tax areas of the practice.

All of our professionals share a commitment to client service and are urged to provide new ideas regarding client service and to develop an entrepreneurial spirit.

While each professional has a functional specialty, all staff professionals are trained to have a working knowledge of accounting, taxation, and general business issues to identify additional services that may be appropriate for our clients. While our professionals are highly capable, we recognize the increasing complexity of the business environment and are more than willing to recommend other sources when it best serves a client’s needs. However, we are committed to growth, so as the business world becomes more complex and additional service needs and business requirements arise, we will continue to expand the services we provide to meet those needs.
